Advocacy

El Sistema Greece advocates for the recognition of arts education -and particularly collective and inclusive music education- as an essential policy tool for addressing social exclusion, inequalities, and the limited participation of children and young people from diverse backgrounds.

At El Sistema Greece, we view music education not only as an artistic practice but also as a pedagogical approach that supports holistic development. Through participation in ensemble-based learning, children and young people develop confidence, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration skills, and active citizenship. This approach aligns with UNESCO’s framework on arts education, which highlights its role in strengthening social cohesion, mutual understanding, and civic participation.

Through our educational programmes, public performances, and strategic partnerships at the local, national, and international levels, we contribute practice-based knowledge and evidence that support the integration of inclusive music education into educational, social, and cultural policies in Greece.

Advocacy

We advocate for the recognition of collective and inclusive music education as an essential component of educational, social, and cultural policy, and as a powerful tool for fostering personal development, social inclusion, wellbeing, and active citizenship among young people in Greece. Our goal is to contribute to the integration of inclusive music education into educational, social, and cultural policies, positioning it as a driver of social change and community inclusion.
